Hand-Selected Barrels

We work closely with our cooperage to select premium barrels crafted from air-dried staves, ensuring optimal flavor development and maturation.

Locally Sourced Grains

Meet the Owners

Roaming Man is produced, distilled and bottled by Sugarlands Distilling Company, which was founded by its owners, Ned and Jessica Vickers. Sugarlands is renowned for its acclaimed craft moonshines and Sippin’ Creams.

After all, whiskey, at its core, is moonshine fully realized—matured, refined, and taken to its greatest potential. Sugarlands has always believed in the power of craft, and with Roaming Man, that spirit is channeled into something exceptional.

Meet the Distillers

Greg Eidam II is the master distiller for Sugarlands Distilling Company, co-establishing the company in 2013 with President Ned Vickers. Leaving his civil engineering career behind, Greg followed his love of brewing beer and immersed himself in studying craft distillation in preparation for opening Sugarlands. Spirits crafted by Eidam have won over 200 awards, including Roaming Man Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey winning Best in Class Whiskey at the 2019 American Craft Spirits Association Awards and Double Gold in the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Eidam oversees the production of Sugarlands Shine, Sugarlands Sippin’ Cream, High Rock Vodka and Roaming Man Whiskey, as well as Sugarlands research and development, and engineering projects.

Andrew Holt, head distiller at Sugarlands Distilling Company, has been a cornerstone of the team since Sugarlands first opened its doors in 2014. Born and raised in Sevierville, Tennessee, just down the road from the distillery, Andrew brings a deep local pride and meticulous attention to detail to his work. Over the years, Andrew’s ingenuity has led to the development of nearly a dozen of Sugarlands’ most popular products, including Sour Blue Raspberry, Sour Watermelon and Field & Stream Honey Pecan Moonshines and Chocolate Coffee, Banana Pudding and Mint Chocolate Chip Sippin’ Creams. Andrew also plays an integral role in producing Roaming Man Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey and High Rock Vodka. In his role as head distiller, Andrew oversees the day-to-day operations of the distilling team.

Since its first release in 2017, Roaming Man has earned some of the industry’s highest honors, including multiple Double Gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and Best Whiskey in the 2019 American Craft Spirits Association Awards.

While these accolades don’t define us, they’re a testament to the craft and care we put into every bottle of Roaming Man. Just as rewarding-the loyal following of whiskey lovers to seek out each release, proving that great whiskey isn’t just judged in competitions, it’s shared, savored and celebrated with friends.
